Welcome to my UA-cam Channel! Here you'll find various videos of all sorts of things, from tiny miniature phonographs to the hulking diesels on CSX's motive power roster, as well as random stuff. The vast majority of my videos are of CSX railroad activity in the central Florida area, especially in Taft Yard along Orange Avenue in Orlando. Show up at the Sunoco gas station, and you might meet me! I am a huge EMD buff, but I also appreciate the GEs for what they are, and, like most avid railfans, I have a soft spot for those wonderful ALCos.

65 year old Geep starting a train!
Florida Central Railroad freight train Z915 is finished serving customers and exchanging cars, and a little before 3 AM, the crew gets the clear to head north on the main. Turn up your speakers and listen as the OTHER kind of American Muscle starts the train and notches up! FCEN number 7032 is an ex-Canadian National EMD GP9RM, and that 16-567 engine has no problems getting the manifest up to speed despite being over six decades old. Note the smoke and 'fireflies' (embers) from the stacks!

Amtrak Phase I Heritage P42 with Smoke!
Переглядів 8414 днів тому
I'm on a roll lately with nice Amtrak catches, it would seem! This time, 92 is behind two P42s, led by Phase I ('Bloody Nose') heritage unit number 161 with the 50th Anniversary logo. We get a toot from the engineer and a nice smoke show with good throttle sounds...all in all, a good evening. That's my mom visible at the very end...shout-out to her for always supporting me and joining me on my ...
Amtrak 92 with Phase VII P42
Переглядів 14814 днів тому
Another catch on my continuing quest to document the sunsetting of the Genesis locomotives on Amtrak. Tonight's Silver Star was pulled by a pair of P42s, with the trailing unit giving me my second sighting of Phase VII paint on a P42! I continue to believe it looks better on the Genesis than it does on the Charger, heh. AMTK 79 (P42DC) AMTK 82 (P42DC) Filmed on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, in Pine...
Amtrak 92 with P42 and B32!
Переглядів 6714 днів тому
Today's Amtrak Silver Star, PO92, was led by a P42DC and had a B32-8WH (former Pepsican) trailing! An uncommon pairing that's only getting rarer as time passes. Worth noting that I have some very good photos of 516 in Sanford many years ago, when she was still in Phase IV paint. Happy 4th from Amtrak!

It's three days before Independence Day and the conductor has put an LED 'USA' star in his windshield today. Note also the trailing P42DC. A honk and a wave round out this patriotic PO92! AMTK 317 (ALC-42) AMTK 120 (P42DC) Filmed on Monday, July 1st, 2024, in Pine Castle, Florida.
Amtrak Silver Star with Heritage P42 and Horn Show
Переглядів 15521 день тому
Amtrak PO92, the daily northbound Silver Star, runs through Pine Castle after a thunderstorm, led by Phase I (Bloody Nose) heritage P42DC number 161 in an increasingly Charger-centric scene. Notice the shave-and-a-haircut and the baby face(?) in the conductor's windshield, haha! AMTK 161 (P42DC) AMTK 4 (P42DC) Filmed on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, in Pine Castle, Florida.
Railroad Dining Car Chimes!
Переглядів 212Місяць тому
A unique and often forgotten aspect of the golden era of railroad dining was the special chimes played by the waiter to summon passengers to the dining car. The waiter would walk from car to car, playing the chimes as an announcement was spoken. In this video, I demonstrate three different chimes made by the J. C. Deagan Company of Chicago, perhaps the most famous manufacturer of these chimes. ...
Inflating Fenris with a Diesel Locomotive
Переглядів 44210 місяців тому
Have you ever seen a giant blow up wolf being inflated using a train engine? Now you have! On one of my many visits to the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, Georgia, Fenris and I found ourselves without an air pump. Not willing to let that ruin our day, we asked museum staff if they had a pump...and they let us use the biggest one they had! Fenris is seen here being blown up with air from ...

GE CM44AH (AC4400CW) Full Autostart Sequence
Переглядів 12 тис.10 місяців тому
I pulled up just in time to catch this one! This is CSX number 7505, a rebuilt AC4400CW (re-classed by CSX as CM44AH), performing an automatic engine startup. You can hear the alerter bell, the fuel pump, the air compressor, and more...the whole process is shown, from start to finish. Turn up your speakers and enjoy! CSX L&N Heritage Unit idling

Two minutes of the GEVO-12 engine in CSX's Louisville & Nashville heritage unit, ES44AH number 1850, idling. Also included are some air compressor sounds. The unit was trailing on the soon-to-depart Q456 manifest freight, which would leave Taft for Waycross in a few hours' time. My first heritage unit...and that includes the NS and UP ones! Train Whistle Echo in Liminal Space Indoor Swimming Pool
Переглядів 798Рік тому
The Anthro New England hotel for 2023, the Westin Seaport Boston Hotel, has a very nice indoor swimming pool that is totally empty but still accessible to hotel guests in the middle of the night. I took advantage of this, along with the con theme this year, TRAINS, to blow my 5-chime train whistle into the silence and listen to it echo. Awesome!
CSX Office Car Special in B&O paint!
Переглядів 8792 роки тому
CSX's Office Car Special (OCS) train passes through the Orlando Amtrak station on its way back north to Jacksonville. This was my first time seeing the train in its new Baltimore & Ohio inspired paint scheme, and it sure looks classy! All three of the B&O painted F40PH locomotives, newly renumbered CSX 1, 2, and 3, are on the train, in numerical order. The sun was just right, too! CSX 1 (F40PH-...

The horn is actually fouled
@@Raichu240-y2e No really, ya think? Lmao
Are these horns “ train horn loud” like hornblasters ?
@@Shawna-jz7tn The Hadley Dual Bully is a truck horn, so not as loud as REAL train horns made by Nathan and Leslie, but probably close to some of the "train horns" sold online. They sound quite nice at 90 PSI.
How loud are these horns with an air tank?
@@Shawna-jz7tn Quite a bit louder on my compressor!
13 years ago , and they say it's suspicious to take pictures of trains. 2022 , los Angeles trains being completely emptied of their cargo and the police don't even blink an eye at it.
@@WiIdbiII The irony...
Sounds loud even with an air pump.

That police officer violated this fellows first and Fourth Amendment Rights. He had no probable cause to demand ID or question either of them. Suspicion is NOT a crime. There is Federal case law on the subject and rail photography. Despite what this cop said it's not illegal according to the Court This local officer actually had no jurisdiction on or about the railroad as it's a Federal jurisdiction. Just a FYI Railroad Special Agents are Federally commissioned. Any charge would be brought in front of a U. S. Magistrate.
I'm not as big a foamer as some of my coworkers, but I do enjoy it a lot when I get to drive one of our old EMD yard motors. Those things are all 50-60 years old, but they have so much more character and are a lot more fun to drive than the modern road motors. They're also a lot more responsive, aside from the dynos.
@@MultiPurposeReviewer TIL you're a crew member! Neat 👍
@@SpeakerPolice Yep! Been a conductor for 6 years now, and been working as a hostler for the last 1.
@@MultiPurposeReviewer Sweet :D
That cop needs to get someone to give him some. He needs a real criminal activity to deal with, not something like this to flex his muscles. Post 911 world. Give me a break. They thrive on that as a excuse to make us prisoners.
@@milepost4846 Fortunately it hasn't happened since 👍
These hunks of junk didn't last long! Already been sent back to EMD. Meanwhile, the trailing SD40-2 is still chugging along after 42 years of service.....and counting.
This same model siren is all over southern New Hampshire and right down the street from my cottage, took me years to realize there’s a nuclear power plant the next town over

I don't think I've ever seen that newest phase of colors on a P42. I'd have to agree; it does look good on them.
Best look for them since Phase III in my personal opinion!

Sounds like a receipt printer is going by.
Tbh I wouldn't even expect that to be a train horn.
Sounds like Bagpipes
THIS IS A TEST THIS IS ONLY A TEST FAAAART! KNEW I SHOULDN'T OF HAD THAT FULL PLATE OF EXTREMELY HOT CHILLI LAST NIGHT DIRTY GIRL
I had no idea they had irl chimes before audio speakers omg
Yeah! I'd actually assume these chimes were the basis for the speaker tones hahaha
CSX 5947 was Wrecked in the Early 2010s, It was scrapped. Good thing you caught it.
Railfans like this need to learn their 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments Rights. Now I don't know if they were on or off Railroad property. They should also look up on county records as to where the public easements are. It's easy enough to do. Don't rely on the cops to know, because they don't.
Whoop!!
Pretty hard to move a consist when the damn air hoses aren’t laced! No wonder they aren’t moving hardly.
Awesome video. I have an HO scale model of this exact engine.
Sounds like my little sister
Why does this sound and look a bit like the frameshift drive
Sweet sound! Just picked up a 244D. Engine brass plate for my collection
this and K5CA’s are the worst horns I’ve heard
Who’s wheezing dying grandpa is being used as that horn
When an air compressors turn off, they have whats called a spitter valve that expels the water that has collected in the system, it's part of the air dryer
How to replace the power plug
Idiot Cop!
Both of those train horns are garbage
Was the cab car numbered 2008?
2008’s horn isn’t that high pitched

8047 is an extremely rare GP10 because of the frog headlights. Oh what I would give to see it in IAIS or ICG...
In addition to the well maintained power. Look at the neatly manicured ballast. I'm used to Guilford Rail System oil leaking from the unit running across rotted ties and mud. Stark difference here. 🚂
